About Shinobu - World of Ninja

Shinobu - World of Ninja is a Text-Based Roleplaying Game based heavily on feudal Japan and medieval Asia. This game is heavily influenced by the anime Naruto but, also takes influence from anime such as Nabari no Ou, Basilisk, Ninja Scroll, Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, Shaman King, Inuyasha, Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), Samurai Champloo and Jujutsu Kaisen. The site is purely based on general knowledge of ninja's, samurai and the like during time period of feudal Japan. This is roughly between the time of the 1500s and the 1800s. You may take influence from similar works, however, try not stray too far from the general plot of the forum.

Setting

Shinobu - The Feudal World is based in a feudal Japanese setting. The level of technology can change over time but, currently it is Era 910. In this Era, technology is close to medieval times. People still ride horses and sail ships but, we are getting close to the time period of steam technology and the invention of the gun.

Currently, it is actually illegal to advance technology due to a vision seen by an ancient shaman. The world does not condone the use of science and technology however, everyone prefers to use magic. It is very well known about the existence of other beings such as Demons or Yokai and other higher beings. Magic is very prevalent, and it is also a well practiced People are consistently reminded of an afterlife due to the fact that people can see living ghosts of their ancestors walking around. That being said, as more and more technology is being built, people are slowly losing their touch with ancient customs and ancient ways. It is feared that eventually, they're way of life will go completely extinct.

Due to some tension between classes, eventually, the shinobi became the more dominant class amongst the citizens. This is mainly due to their practice of modernizing self-defense. It is because of this, that this world is known to be ruled by shinobi.

What is a Text-Based Roleplaying Game?

A text-based roleplaying game is a game where you create a character via sign-up sheet, and then you type what you do with your character. In this game, you take the role of a citizen in the World of Shinobu. As a citizen, you can be a ninja, a samurai, a priest/priestess, a monk, a wanderer, a bandit or even a member of a royal family. Some roles are needed to be filled but, in most cases, just as the Staff if you are allowed to play certain characters.

In this text-based roleplaying game, people take turns posting and we work together to build a story. Your role is to control your character. What your character does and how they interact with the world is completely up to you. Your character(s) will be given obstacles. It's up to you and your understanding of your character in-order to get through quests, missions, dungeons and the latter.
