Universal Rules

Shinobu - World of Ninja is a product of MW Industries - Game Development and Software. We also have a Discord if you are looking for additional questions or information.

If you are new to this forum, then please read these rules about conduct. This refers to conduct as a member and conduct while roleplaying. This is a work in Progress and built off of guidelines I took from past forums. These rules shouldn't be much different from the rules of any other forum though there are few exceptions.

These rules should be taken with no exceptions but realize that these are universal rules for conduct on the forum. Breaking these rules do not automatically constitute a ban unless stated otherwise.

These are universal rules, meaning, they are generally expected to be followed on any forum.

Forum/Posting Rules

Spamming

This is a basic rule everywhere and anywhere on forums. Spam is when your post contains either one word, or has nothing to do with the topic. Make sure to post information that is relevant to the topic.

Flaming

Flaming is the same thing as insulting. Calling another member a newb or any other name just because they disagree with you or do not understand something is against the rules. Don't go out of your way to insult people especially when they've never done anything wrong to you. Treat your fellow members with respect.

Double Posting

Double posting is when you post twice in a row. This rule is a little lenient as sometimes you are required to RP by yourself. You are allowed to bump your topics from time to time but, unless stated otherwise, this is strictly against the rules.

Signatures

A signature is that little picture at the bottom of your post. To access and change this; go into your profile and find the correct area. Please do not use oversized signatures or a pic containing pornagraphy or hentai.

Avatar

An Avatar is that little pic at the top left of your post. This can be changed, like the signature, at the bottom of your profile. Just like signatres, no oversizing or using pornagraphy/hentai.

Roleplaying Rules

Some of these rules are very universal but, this is where the rules take a turn when compared to other forums.

Roleplaying can be done with a friend, by yourself, or with a Narrator. Missions cannot be completed without a Narrator. In most cases, Narrators are Moderators that have been voted by Staff and approved by the community. The purpose of Narrators is to act as a Dungeon Master and progress stories. This could include giving characters obstacles in-order to make the game more interesting.

Character Creation

You are allowed to have up to 3 different Player Characters. Every Player Character can have up to 3 Personal NPCs. You may only have an NPC if you earned one from an event. Only Global Moderators and Administrators can hand out NPCs unless stated otherwise. All of your Player Characters have to begin at the Student Rank and Power Level unless stated otherwise. If you are given any kind of special privilege, make sure to screenshot the evidence of the approval from a fellow Staff member. This rule is applied to anything Staff-related.

One Paragraph Rule

Every roleplaying post should be at least one paragraph. This paragraph should be 4-5 sentences without dialogue. These are sentences, not lines. If you get writers block, take a step back for a while and allow the words to come to you. When training your character, you are required two paragraphs per post.

Godmode

If you ever played Resident Evil, you would know what this means already. Godmodding is when your character seems or appears to be completely indestructible. This is the only reason why we use stats at some point in this RP, is to make sure characters can be killed if necessary. While we do not look to kill off characters, please keep in mind that it is possible for a character to be killed off via combat.

Godmodding also includes doing something that your character normally wouldn't be able to do. An example of this is dodging an attack that's too fast for your character to dodge, or going over your stamina limit.

No one should be indestructible. The point of combat is to find your enemie's weakness and exploit it. While we try our best not to rely on the stat system, the only reason why they exist is to keep characters in check and to have balance. This is a game.

Shadowplay

Shadowplaying is when you take control of someone else's character. Causing their character to move without the user's permission. Shadowplay can be useful sometimes when one needs to move the RP along though we ask that you ask the user's permission.

Multiple Topics

Characters are not allowed to be in multiple topics unless those topics are all within the same forum. Generally speaking, you are allowed to do one quest and one training at a time. For example, you may be technique training in a topic that is located in Fuuma Village. In that same forum, you could be doing some personal bonding or responding to a monster attack in that same forum. However, you are not allowed to leave that forum, even if the monster leaves.

To understand more about how to roleplay here on Shinobu - World of Ninja then, read a few topics in the Rulebook section of the forum. These topics are meant to explain many different concepts to the forum. Don't forget to have fun, as the point of this forum, is that it's a game. It's a game at the end of the day. Try not to take too many things to serious and more importantly, have FUN!
